The design of their covers illustrates how life and death are essential to the plots of the books and how they affect the characters. The typography treatment reflects the characters within the books and their limited education and their hardships.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is also apart of the Banned Book design. This book focuses on an autistic boy who solves the murder of his neighbor’s poodle. The character in the book uses math and logic to solve this mystery. This is reflected in the design of the cover and how his brain processes the clues that lead to the murderer.
